Film & Photography
St. Lucia’s beautiful volcanic landscape, tropical rainforests and Atlantic & Caribbean coast is the perfect muse for film and photography.
As an organisation, we require a vast amount of footage to document work and the volunteering experience. This aids us with both fundraising and volunteer recruitment. There are also opportunities to work within our projects, such as photography or film lessons within schools and higher educational facilities.
The role may include: Capturing images Filming footage from sessions within projects, creating media for commercial use ie. Accommodation, voluntary experience or fundraising. Creating impact documentary videos. Match/tournament coverage. Creating videos for coaching analysis. Video/ photography lessons in schools.
Placement: 2 week minimum


Social Media
This internship will offer you the chance to manage our local charity’s multiple social media platforms. The aim is to increase engagement and raise the profile of the organisation locally and globally.
This is a fantastic project for another looking for a career in marketing. You’ll get hands-on experience and a unique addition to your CV.
The role may include: updating social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, writing news articles and newsletters, managing important contacts database, communicating with past volunteers to get testimonials, collecting high-quality images, collecting interesting stories and articles to be used.
Placement: Minimum of 4 weeks
Domestic Rugby League
Rugby is still an emerging sport in St Lucia, but we’ve been working on establishing a domestic league for some time. This role will see you assist in that task and work with the newly established teams.
The aim of this placement is to aid the growth of the league to improve the standard of domestic competition and create more playing opportunities for young players within our projects.
Roles may include: Managing the ongoing National league fixtures, Communicating with competing teams. selecting and obtaining match locations. Publicising events to gain spectators and local/commercial interest. Assisting the formation of new teams. Fixture/schedule management. Inviting dignitaries. Organising transport.
Placement: Minimum of 4 weeks


Project Coordination
This internship aims to review and enhance the impact of current Caribbean Coaching sports projects.
You will help review and implement improvement to our current projects, as well as looking at if they are achieving their aims. If you identify new opportunities you’ll also be involved in creating new projects.
The role may include: Observing and analysing current projects and their aims. Exploring and trialling methods of similar organisations. Establishing new projects for new communities and specific populations. Impact reports, liaising with parents, teachers, communities, government and partner organisations.
Placement: We request that volunteers come for a minimum 4 weeks
International Rugby Tournament
Since we founded Caribbean Coaching we’ve been helping to organise more rugby fixtures, especially teams coming from abroad. These events help give players more match experience and increase the profile of rugby within St Lucia.
These events also help with fundraising and kit donations. By building links with European rugby clubs we can establish partnerships that help us to continue our work.
The role may include: Liaising with Caribbean rugby unions and inviting clubs worldwide to participate. Marketing to clubs inc. social media, radio and television promotion. Creating commercial revenue: pitching to sponsors for support, negotiating deals with; tour operators, drivers and accommodation providers, decide on tournament vending strategy. Planning and coordinating visiting team programmes. Formatting tournament. Designation of Caribbean Coaching staff and volunteer roles.
Placement: You will need to volunteer for a minimum of 8 weeks and arrive within 6 weeks of the event taking place. Tournaments are held in July and August.


Coach Coordinator
You’ll be joining the Caribbean Coaching team and help us manage our volunteers. You will be an important part of our management team and help to ensure a smooth day to day running of our projects and activities. This is a great project for anyone looking for project management experience.
The role may include: Session planning, preparing weekly coaching timetables and assisting in the management of coaching teams for different sports, delivering in & afterschool sessions for children aged 4-16, learning and being involved in a variety of different sports, liaise with parents, carers, teachers and communities.
Placement: Minimum of 4 week
Summer Camp
Each year we organise and run a free summer camp for children in disadvantaged communities. This runs throughout the school summer holiday, and periods providing pastoral care and sport coaching.
The emphasis is most definitely on fun and engagement, with a range of activities happening each day. This is perfect for anyone who is looking for a career with children.
The role may include: Identifying transport and food subsidies for individuals. Planning weekly timetable. Communicating with schools and parents, increasing participating numbers through schools and advertising. Planning and executing trips, identifying and inviting guest speakers/performers, arranging tournaments and fixtures Links with other summer camps and organisations.
Placement: We request volunteers come fro a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer.
